Vulnerability, Gratitude

2020-08-19

I’m continuing to hike or run Tunnel Mountain every day during the month of November. It’s five blocks from my home. I’m also posting on Facebook about something different that I’m grateful for. To follow me on Facebook click here . Below are the posts that I made on Facebook each day.

GoT: Day 15 of 30 – November 15, 2017
I am grateful for having a good mindset which is continually improving.

For those of you who’ve known me less than 5 years, you may not believe me when I say that I used to be:
– critical and very judgemental of others
– living predominantly in a victim mentality (ie – my life sucks because of the bad things that have happened to me…this is what I would tell myself in head)
– expecting and/or anticipating people to feel sorry for me for a variety of things, with the primary one being that my parents have passed away
– rarely grateful for the good in my life
– someone who had my core thinking about myself and my life be negative, even though I did my best to be positive in both what I said to others and how I acted
– a person who always lived in the past or the future, and found it extremely difficult (nearly impossible) to be present in the NOW

GoT: Day 16 of 30 – November 16, 2017
I am grateful that I am a dual citizen of Canada and New Zealand (because of my Dad)

Today I hiked up Tunnel with my buddy Stu. It was great getting out there with him!

GoT: Day 17 of 30 – November 17, 2017
I am grateful to be a lifelong learner.

I love learning about a variety of things, and currently am in the areas of business, spirituality and relationships.

GoT: Day 18 of 30 – November 18, 2017
I am grateful to live inside a national park.

I’ve been fortunate to live in a number of places including a few years in Japan and a couple of bigger cities in Canada. I truly love living in Banff.

GoT: Day 19 of 30 – November 19, 2017
I am grateful to have access to very clean water any time that I desire.

GoT: Day 20 of 30 – November 20, 2017
I am grateful to have had both of my grandmothers live past 90 years of age. One lived to 93 and the other to 96.

GoT: Day 21 of 30 – November 21, 2017
I am grateful that I am fitter now than I was 10 years ago.

Here’s a photo from the back of Tunnel Mtn from when I was up there this afternoon…
